AI and Content-Assistance Disclosure

This page explains, plainly, what part software plays in producing the content on this website and what it is never allowed to replace. It is here because readers of legal information are entitled to know how that information was made.

The short version

Software tools, including artificial-intelligence assistance, are used in preparing and structuring material for this website. No page describing UAE family law is published on the strength of automated output. Every substantive legal page is to be approved by a named writer and reviewed by a named UAE legal reviewer against current primary sources. The owner decided that the website should be published and open to search engines first, with that review completed page by page afterwards, so at the time you are reading this a page may not yet have been through it. No page displays a writer or reviewer credit until the named person has approved the exact version published.

We do not claim that this website is “100% AI-free”, and we do not think such a claim would be meaningful or verifiable. What matters is not which tools touched a draft, but whether a qualified person has checked what the page says and whether the sources support it.

Where assistance is used

Assistance may be used to organise a page’s structure, to prepare a first draft from source material, to check that headings and internal links are consistent, to prepare summaries, and to carry out technical work on the website itself. These are drafting and production tasks.

Where it is not used

• It is not used to give legal advice, to any reader or to any client.
• It is not used to decide what the law is. Legal propositions come from the primary sources and are checked by a person.
• It is not treated as a source. A statement that exists only because software produced it, and cannot be traced to a primary source, is removed.
• It is not used to invent facts about the firm, its people, its qualifications, its clients or its results.
• It is not used to write testimonials, reviews, case results or endorsements.

Human review is the gate, not a formality

A page cannot be published while any required approval is missing. The website’s software enforces this: a page stays unpublished, carries instructions to search engines not to index it, and is excluded from the sitemap until the writer’s approval, the legal review, the source verification and the technical checks are all recorded for that exact version.

Where a page is materially changed after review, the approval lapses and the page goes back through the same gate. Where a page displays a writer or reviewer by name, that credit refers to the version you are reading and to nothing else.

Your enquiries and documents

Information you send through the enquiry form — your message, your contact details and any document you attach — is not sent to third-party AI systems, and it is not used to train any model. Enquiries are stored in the website’s own private records with access restricted to authorised administrators. Attached documents are held outside the public area of the website and are never included in notification emails.

Accuracy, and its limits

Careful production reduces error; it does not eliminate it. UAE family law and court practice change, official procedures are updated, and a page that was accurate can stop being accurate. Nothing on this website should be relied on as advice about your own situation, and no page promises an outcome.

What can go wrong, and what stops it

Being transparent about tooling is only useful if it comes with the specific failure modes and the specific controls. These are the ones that matter for legal content.

• Invented citations. Language models can produce a plausible-looking law number, article or case that does not exist. Control: every cited instrument is opened on the official legislation portal and confirmed by title, number, year and current state before the page can be published. A citation that cannot be opened is deleted.
• Out-of-date law. A model’s training has a cut-off, and UAE family law has changed materially. Control: the current instrument is read directly, including its effective date and whether it has been amended or replaced. The source-check date is recorded on the page so a reader can judge how current it is.
• Blending legal regimes. The most damaging error in this subject is describing a Muslim personal-status rule, a federal civil rule and an Abu Dhabi civil-family rule as though they were one system. Control: the legal reviewer checks specifically for regime blending, and pages compare routes explicitly instead of implying a single answer.
• Confident tone on an uncertain point. Automated drafting tends to sound equally certain about everything. Control: pages are required to say when an answer depends on the facts, and outcome promises and guarantees are removed at review.
• Quiet drift on revision. A later edit can change a legal meaning without anyone noticing. Control: a material change withdraws the approval and returns the page to review; the page’s stored content is checksummed so an unrecorded change is visible.

What a person actually checks

“Human review” is a phrase that can mean very little. On this website it means a named person confirms, for the exact version you are reading:

• that each legal proposition is supported by the source cited for it;
• that the instrument cited is current, in force, and correctly identified;
• that Muslim personal status, federal civil personal status, Abu Dhabi civil-family procedure, onshore procedure and cross-border enforcement have been kept distinct;
• that no outcome, timescale or cost is promised;
• that no credential, licence or professional claim appears without evidence;
• that the page says plainly where the answer depends on individual facts.

Your information and automated systems

What you send through the enquiry form — your message, your contact details and any document you attach — is stored in this website’s own private records. It is not sent to third-party AI systems, it is not used to train any model, and it is not used for marketing or profiling.

Attached documents are held outside the public area of the server, are never included in a notification email, and can only be opened by an authorised administrator through a route that records who opened them and when. Personal data is handled in line with Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 concerning the Protection of Personal Data, and professional confidentiality obligations apply separately and independently of anything on this page.

Why we will not claim to be “AI-free”

Several law-firm websites now carry a badge claiming their content is entirely free of AI involvement. We do not make that claim, for three reasons.

First, it is not verifiable. No reader can test it, and the detection tools that claim to measure it are unreliable in both directions — they flag careful human writing and they miss edited machine output. A claim a reader cannot check is not transparency.

Second, it measures the wrong thing. A page drafted entirely by a person can still cite a repealed law. A page that had software assistance in structuring it can be accurate and properly reviewed. What protects a reader is the source checking and the named legal review, not the identity of whatever produced the first draft.

Third, we would rather be accountable for something specific. This page tells you exactly where assistance is used, exactly where it is not, and exactly what a person must confirm before a page goes live. That is a claim you can hold us to.

Limits you should assume

• Nothing on this website is legal advice, whoever or whatever drafted it.
• Careful production reduces error; it does not eliminate it. Law and court practice change.
• A page without a named writer and legal reviewer has not completed review.
• General information cannot account for your personal status, your documents, your emirate or an existing order — all of which can change the answer entirely.
